1) There are many websites that offer free online lessons for beginnners. Look for one that has a lot of audio. Use the forums to ask questions, and make friends with other students at your level.

2) Listen to Spanish MP3s or Audio-CD courses in your car. Do you spend 30 minutes commuting to work twice a day? That’s over 5 hours a week that you spend in your car! So start learning Spanish in the car, instead of listening to the radio.

3) There’s no excuse for getting upset about waiting in lines. Always carry Spanish flashcards with you, and pull them out and do a quick review any time you find yourself waiting. You can easily make your own with 3×5 notecards based on whatever course you are currently taking.

4) Don’t forget about using a good book (with a dictionary in the back). While some people learn best from audios, you might be the type of person that has to see it in writing to learn it. Books typically have short story and reading lessons that will help enforce what you are learning on audios.

5) Use language software on your computer. Most people enjoy the multimedia aspect and the immediate feedback. The computer is typically a patient trainer; it will allow you to click the same word dozens of times without tiring.

6) Join a Spanish club or class. Maybe your local high-schools or colleges have continuing or “fun” educations classes like languages. The classes are often $25 or less, and you have the benefit of learning with others, and getting feedback from a teacher.

7) Travel to a Spanish-speaking country. It will immerse you in the language and culture, plus you may enjoy the site-seeing and museums. You will see and read signs everyday, and overhear people speaking Spanish.

If you are a native English speaker who has never tried to learn a foreign language, you might be surprised to know how easy to learn Spanish is. Many English words have their origin in Latin or Spanish languages, and other English words are similar to their Spanish counterparts.

Some Spanish words are easy to learn because the words are the same in Spanish as they are in English. Tortilla, barracuda, mosquito, tobacco, oregano, cargo, siesta, and salsa all mean the same thing in English as they mean in Spanish. You already know some Spanish words. See how easy it is to learn Spanish?

Learn Spanish On The Go

An easy way to learn Spanish is to listen to Spanish language lessons on a portable mp3 player. Anyplace you can wear your headphones, you can easily learn Spanish. Do you commute to work or school on public transportation? You can make it easy to learn Spanish by listening to Spanish lessons downloaded from a podcast.

If you have a long commute, learning Spanish is an easy way to pass the time while you are driving or just sitting in traffic. The best Spanish lessons instruct you to repeat the Spanish words and phrases after the speaker, followed by a silent pause where you’re supposed to do just that. If you’re alone sitting in the car, that’s a perfect time to perfect your Spanish pronunciation. It’s easy to learn Spanish while you’re multitasking.

Learn Spanish While You Watch TV

Reinforce the Spanish you are learning from the learning Spanish podcasts by watching Spanish language television on TV. Most cable and satellite providers broadcast Spanish-speaking TV programming. The Spanish language soap operas, known as telenovelas, are fun to watch, and they are an easy way to learn Spanish.

Telenovelas have a melodramatic air to them, and most telenovela characters speak slowly and deliberately, punctuating their dialog with long stretches of silent, brooding looks. You will find that you recognize many of the words they use, and hearing words spoken in context makes Spanish easy to learn.

Learn Spanish On Your Computer

Software Spanish lessons are another easy way to learn Spanish. The software is surprisingly affordable. For well under $50, you can get the number two rated Spanish language software available, Instant Immersion Spanish Deluxe.

Most of the software programs and podcasts that make it so easy to learn Spanish also provide information about the culture in Spanish language speaking countries, including European countries and Latin American countries.
