How To Learn The Names Of Clothes In German!

It’s difficult! It is very, very difficult to learn the names of clothes in German. If you understand either Afrikaans or Dutch, the process of how to learn the names of clothes in German would be so much easier. You could luckily have a German friend, which would help. You could Google translate and find out the words. There is the Encarta dictionary that would translate any word you have into nearly any language, not only German, just for you.

The easiest article to remember when you have to learn the name of clothes in German is jeans; luckily it stays the same for you. We all love jeans, especially the Levi’s. They are just as hardwearing as the Germans are themselves, even though they weren’t originated there, but in Mexico.

Be Practical

You don’t want to be sticking postit notes on all your pieces of clothing just to learn the names of clothes in German. You would definitely be getting the names wrong, as you might just be the type of person who doesn’t keep their wardrobes meticulously tidy. Use a tiny safety pin to secure the name tag, or if your article still has a name tag on it, you could use a marker pen for clothing and put the translated name on there!

If you were a big person, don’t put the fact that it is large or super large on it; it would waste a lot of space, just the individual article name. What other ways you keep asking! Hell knows! Not everyone wants to learn German let alone learn the names of clothes in German.

Surely when you don’t find the article in the shop, you might just have thought one step ahead and kept a English to German translation pocket dictionary with you when you decided to go visit the country. That could prove to be the simplest way. You wouldn’t need then to learn the names of clothes in German; surely the brand names wouldn’t change. Christian Dior would still be Christian Dior, and that is French. What a mission it would be to translate words like Versace, and that is Italian. Who cares about the brand name translated, as it would lose its power?

Now unless you are going to Germany to become a clothing designer or work in a German clothing factory, it could prove worthwhile learning the names of clothes in German, otherwise not. Don’t even bother, just remember your translation dictionary!

There are many different ways to learn how to speak German. The traditional classroom method has the advantage of being methodical, explanatory and generally proceeds at a slow enough pace for one to hopefully assimilate everything that is taught and remember it. Learning how to speak a language over years helps entrench it in the memory.

But to learn how to speak German so as to be able to confidently and effectively speak it, and not just write it, one needs to have lots of verbal practice. If one can travel to a German-speaking nation and become immersed in the culture, listening to the locals speak it and practice speaking it back, then he or she will learn how to speak German relatively quickly. Exchange programmes, where you become involved in a family or community are great ways of learning the language, as your companions speak the language around you all the time.

If however you have no opportunity of visiting a German-speaking nation, then try find someone you know who speaks the language with whom you can learn and practice, or even someone with whom you can talk online.

A German teacher is a great help, but it is obviously best if the teacher is a native German-speaker, as he or she will know the natural and correct accents to place on words. But other ways of hearing German as spoken by Germans is to listen and work through an audio CD of it, to speak online with German-speaking people, to listen to German Podcasts, music and other audio material, and to watch German television and films.

But to have the written training together with the verbal is naturally best when wanting to learn how to speak German. In understanding the rules of the language, one can best understand the reasons behind, for example, sentence formation and the pronunciation of words.

Material Aids For Those Who Want To Learn How To Speak German

As already suggested, audio aids are a great help in learning the correct accent with which to speak German. But the more conventional learning aids are also helpful. A German dictionary and phrase book are useful tools.

A language book that helps you work through the rudiments of the language is especially helpful to those who have grown accustomed to the type of system used in schools to teach languages. For those not able to afford special books, tapes or CD’s on the German language, there are also free online learning aids and programmes.
